Overview
Unicity Science is part of Unicity International. Unicity is a direct selling company based in Orem, UT that researches, develops, and promotes health and wellness products to over 50 countries around the globe.  https://www.unicityscience.org/
The main purpose of this site is to inform about the scientific process behind each Unicity product, starting from research and development, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and the support of a board of Scientists.
The goal for this project was to completely re-design the page with a new organization, style and following the current brand guidelines. The previous site was a one page site with links to pdf studies and a very poor design. So it was almost starting from scratch.
Role
UI/UX Designer
Research, Visual design, logo design, icon illustration and complex data graphics creation
Jan 2020 – August 2020
Background
This project was worked simultaneously while working with other UX projects. It was the first step to redesign and improve the company’s online global presence to help both distributors, current and potential customers to understand the process of product development. It was my second largest project after joining Unicity.
Some personal achievements are:
- Redesigned a scientific website and helped simplify and organize heavy content into more accessible information.
- Collaborated with the creative director, project manager, content writer, developers, and marketing specialists to combine all efforts.
- Converted complicated and long clinical study reports into simplified sections with more pleasing and easier to understand data graphics.

The Process
Research
We spent some time doing a research of modern and effective scientific websites that were successfully communicating clear information in an organized, clean, simple way. We found good references like ritual.com, takecareof.com, elysiumhealth.com, hvmn.com, usana.com, and seed.com.
Sketches and Wireframes
After the references and the new organization of information were discussed, I started creating some ideas on paper and then wireframes. The creative director requested to design all the ideas in different sections on the same page, and after reviewing and getting feedback from the team, the wireframes were ready for the next step.
Mockups
The first mockups were made to reflect all the approved content and organization with real colors, fonts and images. After some iterations were updated and approved I started working on iconography and graphics.

Refinements and Prototypes
When real content and selected images were added along with all new icons and graphics, prototypes were created to test the interactions and show to the development team.
Development and Testing
After everything got tested and approved, all assets and prototypes were sent for development. I assisted this transition to ensure that every page and interaction followed the design. After discussing about some platform limitations and challenges, I had to update a couple sections to solve the issues in the most effective way. Then everything was tested again and specific corrections were made.

Final results
The new Science website was launched in August 2020, in the middle of a pandemic, and was a big success despite the transitions to work fully remote and adjusting to collaborate online. Distributors were given a powerful resource to share about Unicity with their customers in a more professional, pleasing and digital way. Everyone was thrilled with the outcome.
